Christine Kandie is an Indigenous woman leader from Kenya and the Executive Director of the Endorois Indigenous Women’s Empowerment Network (EIWEN). A person with a disability, she champions inclusive, intersectional approaches to Indigenous rights, focusing on land, water, health, and climate justice. Christine advocates for the Endorois community’s rights around Lake Bogoria and works in solidarity with Indigenous communities across Africa. She amplifies Indigenous women’s leadership and promotes Traditional Ecological Knowledge in global platforms, including the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. Her work underscores the vital link between environmental protection, human rights, and sustainable development.

I am a dedicated educator and a human right advocate. I have served as a teacher of mathematics and business studies in the past one year and currently serving as a Gender and Inclusion officer at Endorois Indigenous Women Empowerment Network (EIWEN) where am dedicated to advancing gender equality, promoting the rights and voices of marginalized women, young girls, persons with disability and other indigenous communities particularly the Endorois Indigenous People. Through advocacy, capacity building and community engagement, I champion for self- determination, inclusion, and empowerment of underrepresented groups across Kenya. With a passion for education and sustainability, am actively involved in projects that promote ecological well-being and social impact
